Bacon’s Towel

My friend Cocco had a contest for a free personalized bath towel in March and I won.  I can’t begin to tell you how excited I was – and still am!  I’ve been putting off on a post because mommy was hoping that I would actually use the towel – snorts.  She’s so funny.  The bath towel came to the Hotel Thompson, mommy unwrapped it and it was cool.  She tried slowly to introduce me to the towel.  You say why?  Well, shuffles hooves, new things they kind of scare me – just a little.

Bath time rolled around this weekend.  I blew bubbles… stomped my hooves… rolled around in the water… dived for carrots.  You know – all in all had a great time.  Time came for me to get out and mommy got my new towel.  Well that’s when mommy learned something new.  I can shake worse than a doggy when getting out of the tub.  Mommy should have just gotten in the tub with me because she got wetter than I did – snorts.  What can I say?  It’s what I do.

She grabbed my towel but to tell you the truth, it didn’t smell like mommy.  It’s a cool towel too.  I squealed like bloody murder so mommy couldn’t towel me off, hold a squealer and take a picture too.  Maybe next month… maybe.

But here is the adorable towel.  It’s black with green lettering.  The towel came from Trixie Wilkie with Adorable Banner Company.  It is a really cool towel and mommy highly recommends it.  From the picture, you can tell there are little pockets where you can hold on to a squealing pig… or dog … or cat… so they can’t get away.

Never fear – mom says she’s going to try again next month in trying to get a picture taken with me and the towel.

Thanks to Cocco and Trixie for the brilliant towel – love you guys!!

Blast from the Past

This perhaps might not be a toy from your past, but surely you remember these?

Mom and dad said these ‘horses’ used to be out in front of the five and dime stores.  You would put in some money and get the ride of your life for perhaps 2-3 minutes.  Sometimes if you were lucky, they had cars instead of horses.  Mom and dad both said when they were little (which had to be MOONS ago – snorts) they used to ride these for 10 cents or a quarter.  Mom said that she hasn’t seen these in some time.  Have you ever rode one?

Nowadays, they have carousels like the one below taken from Wikimedia.  These can be found in malls and we have a close one.  When my cousin Savannah was younger, mom/dad would take her to the mall shopping.  If she was good, she got to ride it on the way into the mall.  If she was good shopping, she got a repeat ride on the way out of the mall.  Cool huh?  That little Savannah got to ride all of the carousels in our area at malls for a while.  There was one in the Macon Mall that was FAST.  Mom/dad called it a roller coaster – snorts.  Have you rode a carousel?
