Poor Mommy

31 Mar

Such a simple little word – BOO.  Three letters that hold a lot of power and oomph behind it.  But, I’m getting ahead of myself snorts.  Let me start from the beginning.

Mommy has had a terrible time the past couple of weeks.  She went left and her back went right and it ‘popped’ out.  As she told daddy, her giddy up had a catch and I mean a BAD catch.  It happened on a Saturday about three weeks ago.  Mom and dad went to the market for their six month shopping trip which is an all day ordeal, store after store stocking up for half of the year to fill up the pantry and freezer.  It’s a blessing to do this but the day is LONG.  But secretly, I think mom and dad enjoy it to the max and have a great time.  That’s my personal belief and I’m not hating the six month trip because this is the time they stock up on my treats to from the club house 🙂

At the end of the day though, mom was pooped.  Walking on all of that concrete all day long caused a nitch in her back.  It started off with a mild limp on her right leg.  Then it moved to her back side.  Mommy stayed on the heating pad on the sofa for a long time that weekend.

Come Monday,  it was still ouchie.  She went to her chiropractor for an adjustment several times that week but to no avail.  The pain was excruciating.  So much so, that daddy and me had to help her off of the couch.  Mommy said she felt like she was 102!  OMP (oh my pig!)

So finally she went to the regular doctor.  They gave her some medicine that she took starting the third week.  Finally – some relief!  She still had a hitch in her giddy up but now it was a small limp instead of walking like t-rex throughout the house.  All was getting better.  This past weekend, she was even able to get off of the sofa without assistance from me and dad.  I was going to get my mommy back – squeal!

So Sunday night mom tucked me into bed, told me my bedtime story and went into their room to get ready for bed.  There she was standing near her dresser and taking her night time medicine.  Daddy was in the bedroom with her and mom saw him – no biggie.  Then out of the blue – daddy said :

It wasn’t loud.  It wasn’t harsh.  It was just a matter a factly.  He does it all of the time – not a huge thing.  Usually mom would just say, “Is that all you got?” and they would just laugh about it.  But not this night.  I learned a couple of things this night.

1 – Mom can jump really HIGH for a girl.  I was amazed.  There’s no way I could jump that high – darn my pot belly – snorts.

2 –   Mom can take a joke and she laughed it off.  Daddy though – I have to admit that he was laughing so hard that he almost had water running down his leg.

3 – This is the most important.  Guess who is back to square one with their back hurting again?

I told you – my parents are ridiculous and that is saying it mildly.

Love this post. Also, there is some synchronicity with my post today. Not with the “Boo!” or the pain, but with item #3. Thanks!

Thank you my friend. She is getting along there but it’s slow… and baby steps. Of course, I’m sure this cold and damp weather is so not helping with it. XOXO – Bacon

Oh gosh Bacon… sorry about your Mom’s back. Both of my parents have back stuff and I know it’s not fun! Hope the medicine gets back back into shape after your Dad did the BOO thing!

Oh Cousin. You should have been there. It’s not like daddy was hiding or anything. He was standing right there in beside mom as they did their nightly meds. Usually he does this ‘boo’ think to her and she won’t even jump and tell him, “Is that all you got?” It’s hilarious. But last night, it was like she saw him but still thought it was Freddie or Jason or something. Dude, she can jump for a mom. Snorts. XOXO – Bacon

Maybe Mom needs to try a different chiropractor – my Mom has had back issues for many years too and she had to try different chiropractors until she found the perfect one.

    • PigLove

      03/31/2014 at 9:02 am

You have a point there. She might have to try this. I’ll get daddy to call her at the worky place and suggest it. Anything that helps get mommy back to working condition with me will be great! Thanks my friends. XOXO – Bacon

Oh boy, you have the funniest peeps ever, brother. I hope your mom’s back will be better soon. To hurt the same thingy the second time is really bad. Sometimes dad’s are silly boys. A simple Boo! of my dad while watching “Carrie” ended with a meniscal tear for my mom once ( but hey, I had no clue that our recliner is a catapult seat too, as I saw her take-off)

    • PigLove

      03/31/2014 at 9:03 am

OMP (oh my pig). That would have been something to see – your mom catapulting out of the recliner. I tell you – I think our parents are related. They just have to be! XOXO – Bacon

You got that right. You think I can come camp out with ya’ll for a while? My Aunt Tina lives in Chicago. I could bounce to her place after a while. I’m easy to get along with…. as long as I have my own room, my own bed, my own television and remote. 🙂 XOXO – Bacon

OMP! Poor Mommy! Have you suggested Acupuncture to her? Sometimes, when a back is out like that, the chiropractor makes it worse because of inflamation, etc. Acupuncture is sooo good and relieves pressure, pain, and eases the muscles back to where they are supposed to be. Just a suggestion! Hope she feels better real soon! Blessings!

    • PigLove

      03/31/2014 at 10:05 am

Thank you sweet friend. I’ll have to suggest this to her and see what she says. It’s bad. It seems all focused in on the right side back/hip area. It really hurts to touch this morning. I couldn’t even snuggle on that side with her after breakfast. 😦 XOXO – Bacon

        03/31/2014 at 10:13 am

Oh…that is not good! Do try acupuncture. I swear by it myself and use it for all kinds of physical ailments. But mostly…it is amazing at relieving pain. I think she will like it and most certainly benefit from it. Sending Healing energy and comforting Hugs!!

Poor Mom, at least her and Daddy have one less critter to see to while she has a sore back. I know you love bashful but he can be a teensy, weensy bit demanding on occasion! Don’t tell him I said that as I wouldn’t want to hurt his feelings. he isn’t made of stone……o_O
It is fun having him here. ❤

Snorts. I know he can be a handful Auntie Sharon. I should have told you to lock your fridge at night. He can also eat you out of house and home… And don’t even get me started on his drinking. Snorts. I’m off to tuck mommy into bed now. Have a great day!! XOXO – Bacon

Definitely no more Boos from daddy. He has been put on notice. I put her to bed for a change last night and snuggled down with her until she went to sleep. It was a change in our routine that I’ve never done before. I figured mommy has taken care of me all of these years and I should take care of her now. XOXO – Bacon
