Dear Winter,
We are both adults. But, I guess you didn’t hear me. I didn’t want this to hurt. But, I met someone else. Her name is Summer. She seems to like me, is very kind and doesn’t judge me. You used to be the same. We’d cuddle up before a fire, laugh at the world and still walk hand and hand outside. But, you’ve changed. You’ve frozen me out. You’ve given me the cold shoulder. You’ve taken the power from me. You make me look foolish now, shivering in the ice. It’s over between us Winter. Goodbye. You are dead to me.

Oh Bacon….not meaning to sound ..well…like I am taking advantage but do you mind if I hook up with Winter….Summer has been…well a real bee-yartch…you are welcome to her…all she did was leave me high and dry…very dry….she may have heat and be attractive at first but then she burnt me out….hugs Fozziemum xxxx

Hey Bacon! I agree, that nasty Winter is like someone you broke up with that just won’t go away. It’s over, now leave…get it? I know that we all want our cold and snow to go away, but I always remember that old saying “be careful of what you wish for as it might come true”. Heck, who’s to say that our Summer arrives and we have nothing but rain or 90 degree temps every day – – we would then be praying for a cold spell, eh? Right now, all I want is temps where I can go outside without a coat on! 🙂

I really do hope so. This weekend it was beautiful. It was in the 70’s, the sun was out and the heat felt great on my back. Today the temp is dropping and they are saying we might have a wintery mix by Thursday. Go away Winter. We don’t like you anymore. XOXO – Bacon

I think winter is staying around as long as it can this year. We had snow over the weekend and below zero windchills. Hope you have lots of nice blankets to keep you warm.

Perfect, Bacon, but I have to tell you that Winter cannot take a hint . . . not even a strong one. It is now March in South Louisiana. Some people refer to our climate as “tropical.” Others call it things like “oppressive” and “miserable,” but that’s another story. Anyway, this morning we had our fourth ice storm since mid-January. Enough, Winter. Enough!
