National Weatherman’s Day

05 Feb

Journalist Rocky the Squirrel here –

“Keeping my paws on the nuts of the world!”

 .

.

February 5th is National Weatherman’s Day. This day honors weather people who work hard in trying to predict our fickle weather. Despite major technological advances, forecasting the weather is still a little tricky and always changing.

The weather affects how the humans dress in going outside in the elements and nature. They watch the wonderful television weather forecasters to dress accordingly. They don’t have the fur coats like we do… well most of them don’t – I heard that Bacon’s daddy is pretty hairy though – hee hee

According to the Air Force News, Weatherman’s Day commemorates the birth of John Jeffries, one of America’s first weatherman. Jeffries was born on February 5, 1744. He kept weather records from 1774 until 1816 – unbelivable!

If you see a weatherman today or you have access to a computer, give them your appreciation for a job well done!

I know that I and Bacon would like to give giant shout-outs to our local weather team that we watch daily. We *always* watch our favorite Fox 5 Storm team. We believe they are the *best* in keeping our humans safe in nature. Here you go –

THANKS SO MUCH FOR WHAT YOU DO –

YOU ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST METEROLOGISTS TO US!

Oh yes. At the Hotel Thompson, we rely on our friends on the Fox 5 Storm Team. They are pretty accurate these days and that is great for all of us. Even in the snow conspiracy. Chitter Chatter – Journalist Rocky

So sweet giving a shout out to your weather team. I think all the weather people here should be fired. They are liars.

    Love and licks,

Or maybe not good guessers? Our Fox 5 Storm Team hits about 90% accuracy. This is good for when I’m collecting my nuts. Chitter Chatter Journalist Rocky

Thanks, weather folks! Now, can we have a little *less* weather, please? 😉 Sigh.

Believe it or not, this squirrel has a background in weather. I am probably the only 15-year Mecca stocker with a genuine degree in Meteorology! 🙂 Though it didn’t work out, I am happy not to be one of the people getting unmercilessly yelled at for being wrong!

I had a favorite weatherman during the week and on weekends we have a weather lady. They help me plan my day.

That is good indeed! I never knew what fire dangers ya’ll had down under until knowing you and Fozziemum. That is so dangerous! I worry about ya’ll Auntie Sharon. Snuzzles you with my snout. XOXO – Bacon

Our favorite weather guy named the whole week “National Weatherman’s Week.” I’m guessing it was to spread out the gift giving opportunities for those of us who did not know such a thing existed!

Snorts. I think you are so right about that! Some of our local ones have done the same thing. XOXO – Bacon
