National Thank a Mailman Day

04 Feb

Journalist Rocky the Squirrel here –

“Keeping my paws on the nuts of the world!”

 .

.

Today, February 4th is National Thank a Mailman Day. Do you hear that pups? That means don’t chase the mailman on this date! Instead of chasing the mailman, today gives you a chance to say thank you. They deliver the mail six days a week regardless of the weather either by postal truck and walking routes. Do you remember the old Pony Express motto? “Neither rain, nor snow, nor death of the night, can keep us from our duty!” This motto is believed to be taken in part from a motto dating back to ancient times! You also hear it this way some times, “Through rain or snow, or sleet or hail, we’ll carry the mail. We will not fail.”

So pets near and far away, go sit by the mailbox today. Maybe bring a bone and give it to the mailman. Tell him thank you.

I will spray the fabulous motto of the Pony Express on our post office tonight :o) I can only thank my dad, because he is our mailman since the letter-guy refused to visit my crib :o)

Snorts – I can just see you doing that Easy. What a sight that will be! Do it for me too. Our snail mail guy is slower than molasses these days. XOXO – Bacon

Ok I will be good and not sit in the window and hiss and growl at him like I usually do.

Why stop now? Snorts. No, you’re right. Today he/she should be treated nicely. That means I can’t scare mine today either. I love it when he comes to the door, dad opens the door and I bounce in the door. For some reason, the mailman never suspects a pig to be there – snorts. XOXO – Bacon

I almost missed this holiday this year. My person has a calendar that has strange holidays on it but they forgot this holiday this year. I have a really cool mail lady. Sometimes she even leaves treats in the mailbox for me.

Did you know we have no home mail delivery here in Ecuador? What’s one to do with that news? By the way, how to pigs feel about mail?

    Snorts from Ecuador,
    Kathy
