Snorts – How Small is It?

 They have these adorably cute little buggies at the market now that mom/dad go to on the weekends.  Just look at that buggy!  So small and cute – just like mommy likes her play things – snorts.

When daddy saw the buggy, he almost popped his back out he was laughing so hard at it.  Mom just stood there and gave him the ‘stink eye’.  You know that look, right?

She let him finish looking like a fool in the parking lot and then asked him what was so hilarious.  He didn’t even reply back to her.  He took the cute adorably buggy and put it next to her Smart car.

Oh dad.  Shaking my piggy head.  Will you *ever* learn.

First off, never ever talk bad about Albert – mom’s Smart car.  You know how precious that thing is to mommy.

Second off, if you are going to laugh, do you really think it’s smart to do it in front of mom?  Have you not learned anything in all of these years?

At least *I* had the decency to go in my bedroom before I fell on the floor rolling around with laughter.  Snorts.

 

Texts From Bacon

 

I know it seems hard to believe but sometimes during the day I text mom while she’s at the worky place.  It’s really easy to do.  I have everything set up on my laptop and on dad’s iPad – thank goodness for modern technology huh?  I thought from time to time, I would share our insightful texts.  Take for instance this one that we did this morning.  My texts are in blue and mom’s are in gray.  Perhaps you can pick up me and mom’s great sense of humor in these?  Snorts – take care my friends and have a great day!

 

 

Do You Ever Get that Feeling?

 You know the feeling I’m talking about.  The feeling that someone is always watching your every move over your shoulder.  You can’t quite put your hoof on it but you know they are out there.  Watching and waiting.  Mommy gets the feeling a lot too – kind of like a dejavu.

Mom was typing away writing, paying the bills – you know the normal stuff in the humans lives.  She looked up to see what was on the television.  Just in that one moment, she had that feeling like someone was looking over her shoulder.  Someone was trying to spy on what she was doing with the computer.  It wasn’t me.  I was cuddled up on her legs. I looked up though and saw.

I saw the culprit that was stalking mommy and what she was doing.  Those purr things.  I’m telling you my friends.  You just can’t trust them here at the Hotel Thompson.  Hemi has mom’s bank account number now.  He’s probably on line as you are reading this blog shopping on line and making connections to Pet-Harmony.  I just know it!

Tell a Fairy Tale Day

February 26th is a day that fairy tales are made of – it’s Tell a Fairy Tale Day.  Everyone loves a good fairy tale – kids, adults and animals.  It’s a great way to bond with your friends.  Pick a story or make up a story.  Either way, it’s a great time for everyone!

It’s not a requirement to start with “Once upon a time…” but it is a requirement to have a happy ending.  There’s absolutely nothing better than to the end with “and they all lived happily ever after.” 

So, cozy up with your selected loved one and read a fairy tale or make up one.  You all know that the pampered pig Bacon gets a bed time story every night when his mom tucks him up. (That pig is *beyond* spoiled!)  I asked him to share one of her stories with his friends here and he said this one was his favorite. We hope you enjoy!

“Once upon a time there was a four legged hooved piggy who was adopted by a human family.  We’ve all seen Stuart Little.  A little mouse that was adopted by the Little family.  Well, this family was just about the same.  They really wanted a baby of their own but circumstances just didn’t work out.  They did the next best thing and adopted a little runt piglet that was only three weeks old.  They took Bacon home and created his own little nursery for him, catered to him and taught him how to become a little man. 

As Bacon grew more and more each day and learned the ways of being a little human, he also grew more and more in his parent’s hearts.  They wanted little Bacon to do nothing more than to blossom and be happy with his life.  Bacon caught on quick to the human ways and started watching television, surfing the net on his laptop and even created his own blog.  In no time, little Bacon became a little pig star in his own right! 

Bacon adjusted to life at the Hotel Thompson and caught on so well with the schedule of the Thompson clan.  He knew when it was time to eat.  He knew when it was time to take a nap.  He even knew when it was time to go to bed.  He created his own little routine before bedtime every night.

Not only was Bacon happy at the Hotel Thompson, he brought happiness to the Hotel Thompson.  Little Bacon became such a happy part in his parent’s eyes that they couldn’t even remember life without Bacon.  He filled a void that his mommy had and made her the happiest mommy in the world.  His mommy fully loved Bacon and Bacon fully his mommy. 

And to this day, Bacon and his parents are living happily ever after at the Hotel Thompson.”

 

OH MY! A Super Duper Special Shout Out –

When I started this blog many moons ago, I never thought I would meet as many nice people as I have and start as many wonderful friendships as I have.  It seems like there are so many people that I feel like I’ve known all of my life.  It’s a wonderful feeling.  Friday afternoon, I got a box in the mail addressed to me.  I was so piggy excited.  Daddy wouldn’t let me open it though.  He told me I had to wait until mommy got home from the worky place.  I’m telling you, 5:00PM couldn’t come fast enough!

Mommy came home and I was already jumping all over her with excitement.  I finally let her put her purse down and pushed her over to my box.  First, there was a lovely handmade card that came out.  Can you tell it was made for me?

Look at that picture – it looks just like me!  And it says, “I heart my pot belly pig”.  AAWW – I resemble that remark.  It was so touching and special.  A car with my resemblance?  Then, mom opened the card and read it.

Oh dear sniff sniff.  They love me.  They really do?  My friends Reilly and Denny at http://cowspotdog.blogspot.com/ thought about this little oinker and sent me Aussie?  I’m not sure who was making it rain more – me or sentimental mommy?  We went further into the box and what did we find?  My new friend Aussie…

.Do you see Aussie?!  Isn’t he the most cutest little piggy you’ve ever looked at??  He looks so much like me – even down to his pot belly!  I can not tell you how much this gift has touched my little piggy heart my friends.  Reilly and Denny – thank you – thank you – thank you.  I can’t say that enough.  Aussie is the cutest little piggy.  In fact, I’m letting mommy take him to her worky place to put in her office.  That way everyone can see him and talk about where he came from.  He’s awesomesauce!

Sunshine Award

My sweet girlfriend Nylablue gave me this special Sunshine Award on 02/23/2014.  As some of you know, Nylablue is very, VERY special to this little piggy and means the world to me.  Nylablue has been feeling under the weather lately and even so *still* thinks about others.  That’s how HUGE her little heart is – she still takes the time to think of others.

Me and Nylablue were going to go out on a date before she got so very sick.  The date is not called off but on hold.  When she is feeling better, I promise to take her on a wonderful date full of chasing butterflies and walking near the water front.  I want it to be something that she will always remember.

So, Nylablue get better soon honey.  I’m always here thinking of you and thank you my sweet dear kitty for the Sunshine Award.

10 Interesting Facts About Moi – A Mere Piggy

1. Mommy tucks me into my toddler bed and tells me a bedtime story every night.
2. Mommy has to put my television remote up high on a shelf in my room. If not, I will turn on my television in the middle of the night and watch it. Honestly.  I scared the bejesus out of mom/dad one night when I did it.
3. I’m usually sweet Bacon but there are times when my evil twin Deviled Bacon comes out.  Those are few and far between but when they do – shivers.
4. I like to ride in the back of mom’s Smart car when she does errands.  The next time you see a little blue Smart car with a piggy in the back seat oinking, give me a wave 🙂
5. I *hate* the feel of grass on my hooves.  I know it sounds silly but I can’t stand it!  I tip toe on the grass when outside because of it… except for when I’m knocking daddy on his butt – snorts.
6. I wake mommy up for the worky place every morning at 6:30AM.  Can you believe she hasn’t had to set an alarm in 2.5 years?  On the weekends, I wake daddy up at 7:30AM for breakfast.
7. Mommy usually leaves me a snack on my pillow on my toddler bed at night.  Sometimes it’s a strawberry, an animal cracker – you know something so the midnight munchie monster doesn’t get me.
8. I’m secretly in love with a purr thing.  Yep you heard it here first.  I love Nylablue 🙂 swoon
9. Mom took me to PetSmart one time when I was younger.  I rode in the buggy.  Everyone thought I was a dog until I started grunting.  Now, there’s too many big dogs that go to our PetSmart so mommy is afraid to take me.  So, I usually just hang out in the back of the Smart car while she runs in.
10. Mommy took me to her worky place when I was little.  I ran around the building like there was no tomorrow.  Don’t let people fool you, I’m fast.  One of mom’s guys caught me and gave me to mommy.  He scared me really bad when he grabbed me.  I peed all over mommy – blush.

 

Pineapple and Daddy

As some of you know, I have a love/hate relationship with my daddy.  I mean he loves me and I love him but it’s nothing like the love me and mom share.  Can you relate?  We tolerate – yeah that’s a good word – tolerate each other.  He takes care of me during the day and I like to think I take care of him during the day too.

Well, this weekend we were outside playing around.  I was down in the yard of the magical back yard and he was with me with mommy up on the deck.  Just for a moment, deviled ham came out in me.

  I tried to hide him back inside of me… you know sweet bacon.  But, it just wasn’t going to happen.  Sigh – deviled ham came out full force.  I looked at daddy and all I could see was a target.  I know I shouldn’t but it happened.  I stomped my hooves, ran around the magical back yard and at full force slammed into daddy who was kneeling over weeding.  For a big ex football player, he fell hard with a good thump.  Maybe that’s because he wasn’t expecting me… you think?  Then that old meanie deviled ham did something terrible.  He grabbed daddy’s pant legs and started pulling.  I thought for a minute deviled ham was going to pull off daddy’s pants in the backyard.

But then, daddy did the strangest thing.  He said really loud, “Safe word is pineapple – PINEAPPLE”.  He kept repeating pineapple.  Shakes piggy head.  Can you believe that?  Even when deviled ham is trying to play, daddy still thinks of food.  And mom says my mind is a one track way with food.  Snorts.

With daddy screaming pineapple and deviled ham snorting, this got mom’s attention on the deck.  Mom said those words that everyone hates to hear.  The full name – shivers.  She yelled out, “Bacon Porkchop Thompson, you get up here NOW”.  Oh snap.  That’s right – deviled ham snapped right out of my inner body and sweet bacon came out pronto.  I stopped, put my tail between my legs and slowly stomped up the board to the deck.  Man, I was in trouble.  The full name followed by NOW.

I got up on the deck and mom fussed at me.  I mean really fussed.  What was I thinking?  I can’t play rough like that, etc.  I tried to tell her it was deviled ham.  She didn’t have any of it.  She sent me to my bedroom… you know pay the time for the crime.  Shucks… it was all in good fun.

But, I went to my room.  I hope mommy fed daddy some pineapple.  He seemed like he really wanted some.  And don’t worry, dad wasn’t hurt.  He thought it was kind of fun too.  We made apologies later in the day and all is good now.

But you see, that deviled ham is evil.  Do you have a deviled ham?
