Dress Up Your Pet Day

Journalist Rocky the Squirrel here –

Today, January 14th, is a special day.  It is Dress Up Your Pet Day.  Today gives you the right to dress up your pet whether they are a dog, cat, pig, squirrel, lizard or a goldfish.  Okay maybe not a goldfish.  What would he wear?  A swimsuit?  chitter-chatter

And by all means, you need to post these pictures of your pets all dressed up.  This is one of my favorite pictures of the pig dressed up – Sir Bacon.

Yep, you read it correctly.  His little shirt says, “I didn’t do it.”  I think for the first 6 months of his life, he probably did think that was his name – HA!

Enjoy your day my friends.  Dress those pets up and have fun!

 I’ll be back soon!

Time Warp Blog Hop

YAY!  It’s Tuesday’s Time Warp Blog Hop.  My friends Mollie and Alfie at http://www.molliesdogtreats.co.uk/ and my friend Easy at  http://easyweimaraner.wordpress.com/ are hosting a Time Warp Blog Hop today.  It’s all about posting pictures about when you were small and flash forwarded to today.  What an awesome idea!

I’ve looked and looked through my baby albums and found one that touched my little piggy heart and one that is more current.  I hope you enjoy them my friends!

This is me with my mommy when she adopted me at a mere three weeks old.  This was about 2.5 years ago.  Look how small I was!  Can you believe all of that cuteness?  Those little hooves, that little snout and that small pot belly?  I think between 3 weeks and 6 weeks, the only time I was on all fours was when I was eating, sleeping or using the bathroom.  Other than that, I was right there in mom’s arms the entire time being cradled and comforted.

Those were great days my friends.  I was a little runt and didn’t think that I would find such a home with so much love.  My two other brothers and sister had already been adopted out.  But mom, she took one look at me from a message sent by my biological mom and she fell in love.  And you know what?  I fell in love when I saw her too.  The first time she held me, I put my snout in her neckline and went right to sleep.  It was love at first snouting.

This is me now.  I’ve grown just a little bit.  I’m still not too big that I can’t snuggle in my mom’s arms at night while we watch television.  And trust me, she tells me that I’m not too big yet that she can’t pick me up when my alter ego, deviled ham, comes out.

This is one of the rare shots you will find of me outside in nature.  I’m just not a nature kind of pig.  I don’t care for the grass to touch my hooves.  I know that seems odd and everything but I just don’t like it.  I’ll tip toe around on the grass, run around a bit but I’m just not a big fan.  What can I say?  I’m not your average everyday kind of barn animal piggy.

Oh, I shouldn’t be the only one in my Time Warp Blog Hop.  This is my mom today.  Hey, I gotta share the love, right?  If it wasn’t for her and her dream of always wanting an oinker, I probably wouldn’t be here entertaining you with my blog.

And thank you my friends for all of the kind comments yesterday.  Mommy is no longer feeling ‘magenta’.  She’s feeling happy – that’s a great and wonderful color!

Happy Time Warp Blog Hop my friends!

Dear Bacon

Dear Bacon,

I don’t get it.  Everyone calls me Spider Frog.  Why?  Can you explain that to me?  Signed Colorful

Dear Colorful,

Well my friend.  It could be because of your colors.  You see, Spiderman is a super hero.  His colors are blue and red.  And well, your colors are blue and red.  I wouldn’t be upset with your friends for calling you Spider Frog.  I would take it as a compliment that they think you are also a super hero – wear it with pride!

Dear Bacon,

It’s most embarrassing here in my crib.  My brother Al – well he has no clothes on.  He always wants to snuggle with *me* because he gets cold.  Can’t my humans get him a sweater or something?  What do you think?  Signed Eeww

Dear Eeww,

Well, Al is just a different kind of kitty than you my friend.  Not all of us can be born with such good lucks as us fully furred.  Just because he looks different doesn’t mean you should treat him different.  He’s your brother – your fellow purr thing if you will.  Give him a shoulder to lean on and cuddle once in a while.

I love to swim.  I know it seems strange and I’m not suppose to like water but I do.  Better yet, I like to play catch with sticks IN water.  Do you think it’s wrong for me to be different?  Signed CatFish

Dear CatFish,
No.  It is not wrong for you to be different.  Every one of us have to walk our own path to happiness.  No one else needs to pass judgement.  Live your life and if it makes you happy swimming and fetching sticks, I say go for it my friend.

So every morning I get up, go to the bathroom and look in the mirror.  I think my eyes are sagging just a bit.  You think?  Signed Primp

Dear Primp,
You know what?  May I make a suggestion?  Stop looking in the mirror.  There’s no reason for you to worry about such things.  You’re gorgeous as you are my friend.  Walk with your head held up high and be proud of who you are.

.

Dear Bacon,
What?  Why does everyone look at this picture and laugh?  I just don’t get it.  Can you please tell me why.  Signed Kitty

Dear Kitty,
Oh dear.  They’re not laughing my friend.  They are just looking at you and thinking what an amazing kitty you are.  You have talent.  I could *never* sit like that with my tail between my legs. Have you ever thought about joining a circus?
