I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas yesterday. It was joyful and wonderful here at the Hotel Thompson. It was quiet – the purr things were loving and mom/dad were glowing with happiness. Our tummies were full of delightful food – all kinds of goodies – sweets, breads, rib roast, sweet potato casserole (one of my favorites) – just to name a few.
We plan on camping out, putting our feet up and relaxing for a change. Mommy is home from the worky place and has no plans of returning until some time next week. I’m a happy oinker. Life is good.
I thought I would take this chance to open up to all of my friends here in blogville. Have you ever wondered what my life is like here at the Hotel Thompson? My favorite movie? Am I messy? Am I a good pet? My favorite food? What I do during the day? How I get along with the purr things and daddy?
Today is your day. I’m an open book. Go ahead. Ask me anything. I will tell you what you want to know. Go ahead. Don’t think your question is minor. Ask away. In between naps, I will answer them all.
Oh, and I know you’re probably wondering what I got in my “little” stocking – snorts. Santa was super nice this year. He filled it with egg plant, carrots, squash, watermelon, apples, celery, animal crackers and my favorites – Gold Fish! mmm – I must have done something right this year! But one thing I didn’t get was Miss Piggy 😦 Perhaps one day. Until then, I can still dream!

Well Bacon, next to nom noms, my dogs love going for a walk and rush and get their harnesses if someone says “walk”. I was wondering if you like a walk too? I know you were a bit nervous about the yard for a while. 🙂

I’m not fond if the harness. I taught mommy that real quick when I was younger. I still have a problem with grass touching my hooves but I will wonder around on our back deck at the Hotel Thompson. Now if mom says “road trip” I am so there. I will walk down the driveway to Albert and let mom help me in the back. I love road trips. XOXO – Bacon

Delicious stocking, B. Yum! My question is, do you ever wear clothes? Also, do you walk on a leash and have you ever tasted dog food?
Love and licks,

Great questions. I have worn clothes when I was younger. I’ll have to find some pictures for you. I’ll just about let mom do whatever she wants in dressing me. It makes her happy thus I’m happy. Leash – not a fan. Mom has tried. I’m a free spirited kind of piggy. I have a fenced in back yard so no problems there with me needing a leash. Mom does insist on one going to the car in the front yard. I tolerate it because I know I’m going a road trip. Dog food I haven’t tried. We have two purr things here and I have tried their Iams – which mom and dad have a fit about. Spoil sports.

Great questions. I have scratches. You can often see me wallowing on the floor rolling around. Mom says a happy pig rolls. I guess I’m ecstatic – snorts. You will also see me scratching my sides by using furniture, wall edges and rubbing up against daddy’s legs using him as a scratch post.

Bacon that stocking of yours really got filled up with some yummy stuff didn’t it??? Sounds like your whole family had a nice Christmas – so did we AND you’ll be getting a surprise from me because Mom’s going to the postal center today to send you a little SUMTHIN-SUMTHIN that I absolutely HAD to end to my Cousin Bacon. Let’s see – a question for you…..how about how much do you weigh? Is it impolite to ask that?

Ohh a present for me? I so can’t wait my friend. I’m pigstatic! I have no problem talking about my weight. I’ve worked hard at this adorable body – snorts. My biological dad weighed 50 pounds and my biological mom weighed 40 pounds. I’m a perfect, handsome fellow at 45 pounds. It may fluctuate a bit here/there according to how much food I can beg for. Snorts.

I have two purr things here. One is like a dog. She is a huge Maine Coon. My nana has 2 Pomeranians, a poodle and a Bassett hound. I’m fine with them. I’ve been around them since I was small. If I don’t know the dog, mom stays with me the entire time. It’s always good to lean on the side of safety with me. I’m curious and like to be the number 1 pet. XOXO – Bacon

Do you have to have baths as often as we do ?

Nope. I usually take a bath about once a month. I’m really a clean animal. But mom insists once a month. I can handle that. XOXO – Bacon

I don’t know if you are a reader, or if your mom reads to you, Bacon, but what is your favorite book or story?

Mommy reads me a bedtime story every night when she tucks me in to my toddler bed. I have lots of kids books on my bookshelf. My favorite go to books are The Three Little Pigs and any of the Dr Seus books. Daddy reads me Green Eggs and Ham by heart when he tucks me in. XOXO – Bacon

How great that you are all together at the Hotel Thompson. Mom would like your stocking, she has a watermelon-obsession :o) Brother, I will write a letter to Miss Piggy, that she shall send Kermit back to his swamp. Probably the green slippery guy swipes all the love letters she got. Here is my question: how big or small are you? are you bigger than Cocco or smaller?
PigLove
12/26/2013 at 10:29 am
Will you do that for me – take care of that pesky Kermit. I know he is why I’m not getting any replies back from my love letter.
I am bigger than Cocco. Cocco is a micro mini. I am a miniature pot bellied pig. I’m probably about the size of a medium poodle. I come up to my moms knees. Like a small pooch. Big enough for loving but small enough for cuddles and couch. XOXO – Bacon

Bacon my question is, do you REALLY sleep in a toddler bed? And does your Mom and Dad send you to your room for being naughty sometimes? Whenever you mention running to your room the whole vision of that just cracks me up.. 😀
PigLove
12/26/2013 at 3:13 pm
Snorticles. Yes. I really sleep in a toddler bed. It has a little mattress and my pillow and blanket. It’s not like mom and dads Select Number which I love and by the way my number is 60. And I do get in trouble. Sometimes I know that I did something that I get in trouble from. Those times, I’ve been known to send my own self to my room to pay the time for the crime. Other times mom sends me to my room and I cop an attitude and slam my bedroom door behind me. XOXO – Bacon

I do have a favorite bankie. It’s a king sized Egyptian cotton sheet. I drag it all over the Hotel Thompson, play with it and sleep in it. My favorite play toy is Mouse Girl, one of the purr things here. I like to pull her tail and listen to her scream – snorts. No really, my favorite toy right now is a little hamster ball that has a fake hamster in it. We all like playing with it here. XOXO – Bacon

Hi Bacon, I have eight little piggies that are probably a bit bigger than you right now that live in a big green field outside with a big barn to sleep in when the day is hot and a pool of mud to cool down in. After dinner they get snuggles. I go and sit in their field and they all come to me making tiny little squeaks and one by one they fall down around me wanting a belly scratch. It can be difficult to make sure everybody gets a good scratch when there are eight of them and I only have two hands. So even though they are not pets like you they still like a snuggle and I like to spend this time with them every day because it makes them and me happy. Also they bark and their hair stands on end if they are suprised or scared by excited by something. My question is this. Do you also make the tiny little squeaky noise when you want your Mummys love and do you bark when you are afraid or excited, also how does you Mummy keep you out of the fridge?
Your blog has been fun to read this year, keep up the good work in 2014.

OMP (oh my pig). That is totally pigstatic! You have 8 babies. I love babies. Mommy has a friend that had 8 not too long ago. Too cute!!
I constantly speak to mom and dad for that matter. She talks to me, I snort and squeal. This is really apparent when I’m being her sous chef in the kitchen helping her cook. I also “bark” when I’m playing with the purr things here and we are chasing each other in the hallways. I’m very vocal. I also know what time mom gets home from the worky place – I get really excited and bark like crazy when she gets home.
As far as keeping me out of the fridge – snorts. There is a metal baby gate that separates the kitchen from the living room. And I have been known to get it the kitchen when they have left the gate open. Mom and dad were smart though. Our freezer is on the bottom and we have French doors to the fridge on top. Darn that technology! But I have gotten in the freezer into the ice.
Thanks for reading my blog and I look forward to talking to you in 2014! XOXO – Bacon

The time of the year when we all partake in some Christmas SPIRIT. 🙂
It was very quiet this year as we went to visit all the Kids and Grandkids and then had a quiet afternoon at home. Boxing Day was reserved for visiting Alice and taking them all a Christmas meal.
