Sleepy Bacon

20130724-230012.jpg

Yep, that’s me.  Right where I usually am – up under mom’s feet.  We pretty much were couch potatoes this weekend.  She slept.  I snored.  She snored.  I slept.  We camped out, watched television, ate and basically did nothing but vegetate. I would call it a perfect weekend.

I think we should start campaign to have a three day weekend and a four day work week.  That way I get mommy longer on the weekend.  Suggestions/ideas?  You?

LONGER WEEKEND!  I’ll start making signs…. after my nap.  Then again, maybe tomorrow.  No need giving up a nice warm spot beside mommy. 🙂

Open House?

Sometimes you come across a sign that makes you go hhhmm, say what?  This is one of those times  Mommy drives by this cemetery on the way home from the worky place every day.  A while back, she got stuck in traffic right in front of it.  She looked over at the grounds, saw this sign and burst out into laughter.

She was able to snap this picture.  So, I have to ask.  “Open house” at the cemetery huh?  What exactly does that entail?  Do you serve ‘finger’ sandwiches?  Do you serve punch?  Is it like buying a condo/apartment or a house, do you get to try out the coffins and look at your surrounding resting place?  Do you get to meet your future fellow neighbors?

I know… I know.  Sometimes I take these things a little too far.  But, you know you are probably thinking the same thing.  Am I right?

P.S.  Please feel free to add your thoughts on what is going on at the “Open House”.

The Joys of Video

There are times at the Hotel Thompson that I just enjoy my time to myself.  This is one of those Fridays.  While daddy is slaving away on household chores – yawn – I’m holed in my bedroom for some peace and quiet.  Hey, I already brought all of my dirty stuff to the laundry room.  I’m good.  *My* chores are complete – snorts.

So, I’m in my bedroom all snug in my toddler bed hanging out on the laptop and watching Green Acres on my television.  I’m surfing YouTube and came across a commercial that I have never seen.  I was laughing so hard.  I’ll tell you a secret.  I could see *myself* doing some of the things in this commercial.  It’s that good.  Take a look and see what you think.  This commercial was made for *me* to star in.  Oh Hollywood, I’m ready for my close up – snorts.

Happy Friday my friends!

Meet the Rock Clan

Let me introduce you to Bashful’s friends that stay with us here at the Hotel Thompson.  They are Princess Coralena, Virginia and Manny.  Such an awesome trio. Full of life and fun – always giving us a great time full of stories from their original homes.  Do you ever wonder they do when Bashful is off traveling the world?  They are forever rolling through the halls, Skyping, and playing outside with Journalist Rocky the Squirrel and his family.  And they keep me, the purr things and the humans very entertained.

I got to talking with them this morning and believe me when I say this little oinker was rolling with laughter.  They were actually telling jokes.  I couldn’t resist, I had to get them to tell their jokes to daddy too.  OMP (oh my pig!)  We were rolling!  So much so that when mom called to ‘check on things’, we couldn’t even talk.  We were laughing that hard.  Of course, we passed on the jokes to her too.  We could hear her laughter over the phone.

So, I thought I would share this humor.

First up, Princess Coralena

Question:  How do you make gold soup?

Answer:  You put 14 carrots in it.

.

Second up, Virginia

Question:  What do you call an alligator in a vest?

Answer:  An inVESTigator

.

Last but not least, Manny

Question:  What starts with an E, ends with an E and has a letter in it?

Answer:  An envelope

🙂  I hope you are cracking up like we are!  Enjoy my friends!

I Can’t Breathe

I have to give three hooves up to K-Mart.  (I would give four hooves but I would tumble over – snorts).  On 11/18/2013, they came out with the *best* commercial that I’ve ever seen in my entire two years.  (Hey, two years is a long time in pig years my friends).

I like this commercial for several reasons.  First, there are Christmas bells.  Who doesn’t like Christmas jingles?  Second, it advertises Joe Boxer and he’s a cool dude.  Dad knows him well – snorts.  Third, this commercial makes my mommy laugh so hard that her entire body shakes.  Yep, SHAKES like Jell-O.  Therefore when something makes my mommy happy, I’m ecstatic my friends.  Am I right my fellow anipals?

Have you seen this commercial?  It has blossomed up some controversy over the internet.  To those people I gotta say lighten up a bit.  With as much drama as we have in the news these days, we need something to make us laugh a bit.  What do you think my friends?  Hooves up or down?

I Have Proof!

20131113-120615.jpg

If I had  *any* doubts whatsoever, I have the proof now.  See – see the proof is in the picture.

Mom *IS* a superhero.  Daddy took this picture of us sleeping together and I just found the picture.  I’m in there.  You can’t see me but I’m there.  I’m under her ‘cape’ with her staying warm and sleeping.  We were actually taking a power nap as I like to call them.  We were both dragging our tails from this past week.  A little snuggle sleep time is great – I highly recommend it with your human 🙂

So I have to ask mom, “Where’s *my* super hero outfit?”  It’s gotta be out there.  Maybe I’m getting one from Santa this year?  hhhmm – maybe I need to start my list today, right now, so that I can get it out before Thanksgiving.  I’m excited now – my tail is wagging non-stop.  Gotta run my friends.  I’ve got some lists to make.  What are you going to ask for from Santa this year?

Overheard Something Weird Last Night

Last night was a regular routine at the Hotel Thompson.  Mom put me to bed, read me my bedtime story and I fell off to sleep.  Then her and dad got ready for bed – all of this typical of a regular night.  But as mom/dad were getting into bed and settling in for the night, I overheard something that they said.  It really piqued my interest and when I got up this morning I had to do some research on the internet.  That’s when the aaww factor came in.  Leave it to my daddy, he still has it at times.

Are you wondering what daddy said?  He told mom, “Give me your hand my sweet otter so I don’t drift away.”  Then I heard giggles and then snoring – snorts.  It sounded so innocent but really weird.  What a strange thing to say before going to sleep.

During my research this morning, I found out what he was talking about.  Otters hold hands when they go to sleep so that they don’t drift off from each other.  There you go – you can do the ‘aaaww’ now.  I was touched beyond means.  Yep, my adopted daddy still knows what to say to make mommy weak in the knees… or go to sleep.

Bashful’s Great Fishing Trip

While at Tybee Island with mom/dad several weeks ago, Bashful went on a fishing trip.  You know that is one of dad’s favorite past times – to go fishing.  So, I guess that kind of rubbed off on the little rock.  He was so thrilled and was so full of confidence that he was going to get the ‘big one’ and it wasn’t going to get away… like it does in dad’s stories – snorts.

So, he got his fishing rod out and spent several hours watching his line for any kind of movement.  He has the patience of a boulder – he waited and waited and waited.

And then TUG – the line moved.

Bashful jumped into action and started reeling in the line.  He asked for some help from the regulars at the pier and a kindly gentleman came over to help him reel whatever Moby Dick he had on the line in.  It was touch and go for a while.  The line went out.  The line went in.  It was a monster!

Bashful stood his ground though and continued to pull in whatever was on the other end.  Was it a shark?  Was it Moby Dick himself?  Was it the Loch Ness monster?  Whatever it was, it was the longest twenty minutes of his life!   Then they saw something jump in the water.  OH WOW!

Man the net – man the pier – wipe the little rock’s forehead – the monster came out of the water.

It was touch and go for a while but finally the brought the big killer in – all in its glory.  What a fish!  It was amazing.  And to think dad, Bashful has ‘proof’ of his big catch… where’s your proof? snorts.

And being the good little tyke he is, after the ever so kind fellow fisherman helped out, they kissed it and threw it back in the ocean to his family.

When Bashful was asked why he threw it back, he replied, “It wasn’t big enough.”  aaww – that’s my rock!
