Bacons Tales of Terror

13 Nov

Count Baconula is back my friends!  Thank you so much for the overwhelming results of my poll on bringing back 31 Days of Spook next October 2014.  I had such a ball with it this year!  A suggestion was made by Easy at http://easyweimaraner.wordpress.com/ to maybe come up with a spook once a month.  Me and the humans discussed  it and what do you know – they agreed.  Thanks Easy!

It was further discussed what day could we do a spook posting.  Mom immediately said the 13th – I mean isn’t that the best day of the month?  Evil 13th – snorts.

So, today I bring you Bacons Tales of Terror – my first edition on the 13th.  I hope you enjoy it my friends.

 .

Today I’m going to talk about things that go bump in the night here at the Hotel Thompson.  This is a true story – I’ve actually heard it myself.  The first time it happened was about a year ago.  Mom, dad, the purr things and I were all sitting in the living room and it was early afternoon.  It was storming outside and the electricity had just went off.  The living room was dark, the rain was hitting the windows and you could hear the clapping of the thunder that was shaking our house.

Everyone is accounted for and out of the blue we heard a squeak.  It wasn’t a mouse or a toy.  We don’t have squeaky toys because someone – looks around innocently – likes to chew the toy until the squeak comes out and dies.  Therefore, we don’t keep anything ‘squeaky’ in the house because it might be a choking hazard for one of us anipals.  It was loud.  We couldn’t figure out where it came from.  And we all heard it because we anipals jumped on the floor to search for it.  It sounded like it was right in the room with us.  It was strange to say the least.  Shortly after, the electricity came back on at the house.  Weird but we wrote it off.

Then about six months later, it was late at night and we were all camped out in mom/dad’s bedroom on their bed.  It was quiet, there was no television on and mom/dad were just talking.  We heard it again.  And again it sounded like it was right in the room with us.  The same before – a loud squeak – and all of us anipals jumped up from a sleep position to standing up on the bed wondering where it came from.  We were mystified.

It’s happened twice now.  I’m not sure what it is or where it is coming from but it’s there.  It doesn’t sound like a ‘squeaky toy’ per say.  It doesn’t sound like one of us anipals “squeaking”.  It doesn’t sound like a mouse “squeaking” – it would be a huge mouse if it was my friends!  It happens quick and we never know when.  Both times it was towards nightfall, one time was a storm outside.  It’s just one weird sounding squeak and it seems to be in the room where we all are at the time.

Makes you wonder.  Do you have strange sounds in your home?  Things that go bump in the night that you can’t figure out?

This is a spooky story indeed! I don’t have anything like this at my house but my across the road neighbour has had strange noises and goings on there from time to time. shivvers!

Most particular for sure my friend. It’s just strange to have a ‘sound’ that you can’t point to where it’s coming from. Most strange indeed. AND, we heard it again last night. The same squeak and it was coming from mom and dad’s room. If it’s a mouse, it *has* to be a HUGE mouse. Maybe that Mickey Mouse finally found mom? XOXO – Bacon

Great idea in doing a story on the 13th of every month. No squeaky noises here, you such it wasn’t a purr thing snoring? My cat snores.

We thought perhaps but their snores don’t sound like this. It’s an actual ‘squeak’. It’s really weird and strange. We can’t pinpoint when/where it’s going to happen. Different rooms, different days and times. It’s always in the room that mom/dad are in and usually us anipals are with them. It is a mystery. I think I need to call Mystery Inc and see if I can get Scooby on the case – snorts. XOXO – Bacon

Oh Bacon….how EEEERIE that you have a mystery squeak in your house! Someone/something is trying to get your attention for sure…but why? Where? Who? These things may remain a mystery forever but something tells me it’s not an evil thing…just a big eerie! I’m happy you’re going to do a monthly “EEEEEEEK” on the 13th – I’ll be here buddy!

aaww – thanks my squeaky friend – snorts. Thanks to Easy for suggesting the monthly screams. That’ll give me an entire year to lead up to my 31 Days of Spook for next year. I love doing this – they are so much fun for this little oinker. Okay I get scared sometimes and need mommy to hold me but they are fun.
This squeak really has my interest piqued. It sounds friendly. I mean a squeak is a squeak. How can it sound eerie, right? I’m hoping that Mickey Mouse has finally found mom – his stalker – snorts. I will definitely keep everyone posted on this mysterious noise. XOXO – Bacon

Wow, sweet Bacon that is eerie. Wonder what that squeak could be coming from. Any strange sounds around here usually end up being the cats doing something. One time though our clothes dryer came on for a few seconds and then turned back off with no one anywhere near it… that is the eeriest thing we have ever had happen out our place. Hugs and snout kisses

Now that is odd. The only time our clothes dryer comes on is when daddy is using it doing his chores. So very strange in your case. This squeak is weird. We don’t have any squeaky toys in the house… starts whistling innocently… someone took care of that problem. I just can’t put my snout on this mysterious sound. I’m thinking I’m going to have to do some investigations on my own. XOXO – Bacon

The 13th? Evil??? Just because both are in my WordPress name? 😉

I think Count Baconula should get his own horror anthology show! Or at least something on Syfy!

Great that you have a spooky day now! Thanks! I think it’s definitely not a mouse (a mouse in a house with two cats? that’s like the white sharkie in sahara). We had a loose roof tile once and always when we had stormy weather that darned thingy screamed and made noises like a living being. Sherlock Hollow and Dr. Tardson were on the hunt with a gun and detected the culprit. Fortunately they did not shot with the gun at the evildoer only with expanding foam :o)

Thanks my buddy for suggesting spooky tales once a month – after I talked to mom/dad about it, they were on the band wagon immediately! Nope, I’m with you. I don’t think it’s a mouse. If it is, the purr things need to be fired immediately. But the expanding foam thing does intrigue me and makes me wonder how I can use it around the house – snorts. XOXO – Bacon

My dad says you can use that stuff for all things, you wouldn’t believe where you can find expanding foam in my crib… think it holds together my whole crib :o)

hhmm I think I may have to tell mom/dad about this stuff. There are some holes abundant at the Hotel Thompson that need filling. Thanks buddy. XOXO – Bacon

The other person at homes keeps seeing and hearing things, he says someone moves his stuff, closes and opens doors, I don’t believe it.
I should start planting things just to freak him out.

Snorts – that would get him. When mommy first moved into the Hotel Thompson, she had a little glass figurine of a cat. It kept moving around the house. She was living by herself then and *knew* she was moving it… unless she was sleep walking again – snorts. XOXO – Bacon
