Mom and dad do bring out the freeze in cold. This is a picture of their air conditioning unit while at the beach. A chilly but yet comfortable 54 degrees. Too cold for you? Now you know why I wear a fur coat at the Hotel Thompson – snorts. No really, it’s fine here.
They both like it cold – especially at night when they are trying to sleep and have sweet dreams. But there is one difference between here at the Hotel Thompson and the hotel they stayed at during vacation. Blankets. That’s right, I said blankets.
You see here at the Hotel Thompson, mom and dad have separate blankets. I know it seems odd but it works for them and what works ain’t broke so don’t fix it. You’re probably asking yourself why the separate blankets? I’m glad you asked.
Early in their marriage, they both learned that dad was a blanket whore. Yep, I said it. Blanket whore. Take in point this picture that mom took as evidence for an example 🙂
See all of those blankets on the floor to the right side of the bed? That was daddy’s side. Daddy who kept telling mommy that she was hogging all of the blankets and he had none. All during the time that mommy’s frozen derrière was hanging out in the cold and she was shaking from frostbite. I mean, she could have turned the air conditioning down but then, she would be too hot to sleep. It’s what mom refers to as a catch 22 – darned if you do and darned if you don’t.
Anyone else relate? Please tell me mommy isn’t the only one with a blanket hog?

Daddy used to roll around a lot too. That is until mom and dad got what they called a Select Number bed. Now she doesn’t feel him moving – snorts. It’s only a problem when they go on vacation. Maybe they should start asking for a room with two queens instead on one King? That could woke. Hey mom! XOXO – Bacon

My Dad insists my Mom is a blanket hog (oops…sorry about that) but really my Dad is terrible about pulling all the covers over to his side. Humans are so silly!

Same here, they both like the cold air, but Dad likes to wrap up like a piece of toast, Now Mom just is plain hot. Well we sleep in between the oven zone and the freezer zone!

54! Too cold for this girl. We also do the separate blanket thing in our house. My husband is the hot cookie who needs little more than a thin cotton blanket. I need a pile!

We have the same thing here, but for a different reason. Daddy is a furnace so he has the sheet, unless it is -50. And mummy is normal so she curls up in the duvet.

Bacon I am the pest here…my thermometer is up the spout…so I have the doona on..off..on…off..but hubby has sleep apnea..so a CPAP machine..it’s like sleeping with Darth Vader….drives me to distraction…so I guess we are both pests heheeh 🙂 hugs Fozziemum xx

Snorts – daddy has a CPAP machine too. You can see the hose in the picture. The first machine he had was awful sounding. I could even hear it all the way in my bedroom! His new machine has a tight mask and now we hear nothing. Mommy also turns a fan on in the bedroom for sound that she can focus on to sleep. I don’t understand that part but that’s what she tells me she does. XOXO – Bacon
