Pirate Fest at Tybee Island, Georgia

Tybee Island – mom/dad’s home away from home.  They LOVE that beach.  They have been going to Tybee for years now and it just feels natural to be there partaking and having fun with all things beach.  They’ve met so many people over the years.  Hopefully one day when they retire to the good life, they want to spend their senior moments at the beach walking hand to hand causing havoc (you gotta know mom/dad and the trouble they get into at places unchaperoned – snorts).

This is actually the beach they are planning on visiting later on in the month – without moi might I add.  One day hopefully soon, I will get to put my hooves into the ocean as well and see what it’s all about.  But I digress.  This post is not about me but about Pirate Fest at Tybee Island, Georgia.

The Tybee Island Pirate Fest started in 2005 and has been going strong every year.  This year it is scheduled October 10-13th, 2013.  It is so cool!  There’s going to be a parade of pirate ships and pirates that will go down Butler Street to the beach.  And, there is the thieves market where you can shop to your hearts content for everything pirate.   AND to start everything off there’s even a Buccaneer Ball at a wonderful restaurant called The Crab Shack (which mom/dad highly recommend).  Fun, food and costume contests all with the crowning of the 2013 King and Queen to kick off the swashbuckling weekend.

To buy tickets or get more information, check their web site out at http://tybeepiratefest.com/

Here’s also a flyer of the good time.  I sent them my pirate picture… you know just to let them know that I’m all about being a Pirate.  Heck, you can call me Captain Bacon 🙂

They went to a pirate fest without you? That’s mean! Bet they will meet Johnny Depp and Captain Blackbeard…. and you are at home with Mary Poppins. Think they should bring you a pirate treasure for compensation, that’s the very least.

Well, they did send the Tybee paper my picture of me dressed up like Johnny Depp. They posted it on their Facebook which was fun to see. I would post pictures of mom in her wench’s attire but she said that she would take away my computer forever if I did. Spoil sport. XOXO – Bacon

Well I’m glad you did send them your pirate picture, Captain Bacon! The fest looks like a fun time. Did you also alert them that your mom and dad might be around somewhere, with no chaperone?!

Snorts. Darn. I should have sent them a message that mom/dad would be loose. What’s up with them taking a day trip without me. I could have went dressed up and had loads of fun. But they said wasn’t pig related. Just between you and me, with the way mommy was dressed I don’t think it’s human rated either – snorts. XOXO – Bacon

That looks like a really fun festival. I think you would like the beach, on a warm late afternoon perhaps. 🙂
