Mommy Time Out

07 Aug

Usually I am the one getting into trouble at the Hotel Thompson and serving the time for the crime. But this time, it was mommy – snorts.

Apparently driving home last night from the worky place mommy got all worked up and frustrated. What takes her normally 15 minutes to get home took her 35 minutes tonight. When she got home, she went off like a firecracker on the Fourth of July. It’s very rare to see mommy like this. In fact, I really can’t remember mom having a time out. But, she did last night. Daddy sent her to her room for a time out. I’m not sure who was more shocked. Me or mommy – snorts. But it was all in good fun.

She served her time and came out after a while. Finally we all listened to mommy ramble and get everything off of her chest. I have to admit, some of it was funny. See how many of these traffic situations you’ve been against while you’ve been behind the wheel.

1. Car signals. Mommy said that they are on the car for a reason. It lets the people behind you know of your intentions when driving. I guess some people don’t understand that simple notion. They go left or right without a signal or immediately stop for no reason out of the blue. Then there are the people that turn a right signal on and then turn left or vice versa.

2. I admit this next one cracked me up. Mommy said sometimes when you are driving, people need to get in front of you for a number of different reasons. You know, coming out of a lane, a business, etc. But when you let them, the nice thing to do is to wave as a little thank you. Mommy says it totally frustrates her that a lot of times people don’t thank you. She said she would even take ‘that’ hand gesture to acknowledge her gesture of kindness. And we all know what “that” hand gesture is – snorts.

3. What’s the rush? Mommy says it is totally frustrating to have someone behind you riding your bumper. They are in such a hurry that they go around you and get in front of you just to turn at the next exit. Really? What is the rush? You saved what – 2 seconds?

Have you ever experienced these types of driving frustrations? Can you relate to mommy?

Oh Bacon..poor mummy ..yes..sometimes I get a little peeved too..we have a whole 110kmh speed limit on our highway and sometimes I think the people are saving their limits fo different zones..especially when they do 70 in the zone…I get huffy..but you can’t pass them because someone else is next to them doing the same…grrrrrr then when it changes to 60 they start doing 90 and i get eyes like lollipops!! humans Bacon…very frustrating!!! Have a good day and give poor mummy a snuffly kiss 🙂 Hugs Fozziemum …btw there was a loose camel running around town today!!! they got him safely but boy!! what a big day for him…who has a camel?? hehheheh

A camel?! It should have gotten loose today because what day is it?! Snorts – Hump day – PLOL (Pig laughing out loud). Mommy is much better this morning but last night she was way out of whack. Driving sounds so frustrating. I’ll keep my running to the hallways here at the Hotel Thompson. XOXO – Bacon

I can definitely relate to your mommy’s traffic frustrations! Some drivers are the worst, they can ruin a perfectly good day! Glad to hear she was able to vent though, sometimes timeout is a good thing!

Yes it is. I’ve never seen mommy have time out before. Between you and me, as many times as she has put this little oinker in timeout, it was kind of funny seeing daddy tell her to go to timeout – snorts. We all laughed about it later but it was funny! Mommy just doesn’t get bent out of shape on stuff. XOXO – Bacon

Oh dear! In the UK there is a new game that lots of people like to play when driving, its called ‘don’t indicate’. So everyone has to guess when you are turning or changing lanes, it makes life interesting to say the least!

OMP (oh my pig). That would throw mommy in a tizzy. She hates driving as it is. People going all squirelly and doing their own thing without letter others know – mommy would be serving a lot more timeouts – snorts XOXO – Bacon

All the time, but thankfully I found an alternate route to and from work. It’s not as bad. Plus tell mommy I had my front window on my car replaced four times in the past two years thanks to this busy road.

      08/07/2013 at 8:52 am

oh no. That’s awful about the windows. Mommy really doesn’t have to go far to go the worky place. It’s a straight shot for the most part. It’s just they’ve been doing a lot of road construction on the main road she takes near the worky place. Hopefully they will be sometime with it this century! PLOL (Pig laughing out loud). Oh thud! Mommy would *never* make it in LA – snorts. She barely makes it driving here in the back roads of the south. XOXO – Bacon

oh you sound like my Mommy! My Mommy gets sooooooooo mad when she allows people to come in ahead of her and gives them a break and they don’t wave back! That’s just darned rude!

      08/07/2013 at 9:20 am

Isn’t it though!? Mommy says she doesn’t care if they give her the middle finger – she just wants some type of acknowledgement for being nice. People can be so rude! XOXO – Bacon

I think we need to send bad drivers to time out! Let them think about their inconsideration!

Yes let’s start doing that please. Common courtesy is just not so common anymore. It’s a crying shame! XOXO – Bacon

Snorts – We could share time out together and watch some television. Sounds like an awesome plan, doesn’t it? Oh, you said you have never seen one of my kind in real life. I make *nothing* compared to the size of your regular piggies. I weigh about 45 pounds and I’m about the size of a small puppy. I’m fun size 🙂 XOXO – Bacon

Oh, man! I sooo relate to traffic. The thing that kills me is how we act like we are bulletproof and invisible in a car (and drive as such). For me, the funniest is when people drive like they are the only ones on the road and then I see them in church. “Dog eat dog” on the road and “love thy neighbor” in the chapel.

So true! What bothers mommy is that she drives a small Smart car. You know, about the size of a sneaker – snort. People think that since mommy’s car is so small, they ignore her like they can’t see her which we all know they can they just chose not to. Which is another thing that sets mommy off. My mom always says that all other drivers are douches. If she wins in the lottery she will donate 1 million of indicators to the poor people here, because they haven’t such a thingy.

Snorts – you said douche. I *love* that. I think I’ll start using that word here at the Hotel Thompson – snorts. LOVE IT! XOXO – Bacon

And that’s yet another reason why I am so happy that I am a dog and cannot drive . . . well, not legally, anyway. 😉 I love leaving that hassle to the humans. 🙂

I second that! I just piggy back in mom’s Smart car at times. I snort and tell her my opinion. It doesn’t take much asking to do that – snorts. XOXO – Bacon

Oh yes! Fave topic around here. Purr things look at us with those eyes like they don’t know what all the fuss is about, then they snicker at our frustration. But they don’t have to drive! Bacon, I know you’ll have sympathy for your mommy! Those car things, traffic things, and such, are just awful sometimes!

Yes, I admit they are. I’ve been in the car with mommy when she’s had a few frustrating moments. I then start snorting in the back seat and she laughs about everything. Maybe, I need to go everywhere in the car with her. That way I can keep her laughing. What do you think? XOXO – Bacon

Poor, poor mommy. I always drive safely and courteously but horrible drivers honk their horns at me. When they do that I just blow them a kiss. Tell mommy when she is driving to play some calming music, to drive safely and allow the madness of stupid drivers to wash over her.

That is excellent advice! She’s better when I’m in the car with her because you know she doesn’t want to swear in front of me. I might learn too many new words – snorts. I think I just need to go everywhere with her. 🙂 XOXO – Bacon
