Some people have parrots and other types of birds that sit on their shoulders. Here at the Hotel Thompson, we like to do things differently. We don’t need a bird to sit on daddy’s shoulder and whisper into his ear.
NOT when you have Hemi – the pirate cat. Hemi will stand on your shoulder, purr in your ear and mock love you. And what more, daddy will let him to do it.
Really? Dad, ppsstt – Hemi is a C.A.T. He’s not suppose to be on your shoulder acting all parrot on you. He can’t learn to ‘talk’ and talk back to you… well, at least I hope not. And dad here is the biggest news flash of all – do you really want his back side so close to your face? I’ve seen what comes out that end – it’s not good. Trust me.
These animals just walk all over the humans here at the Hotel Thompson.

I’ve taken my walking all over humans to rooting all over humans and even a bite every now and then. You ever do that? Pirate cats are pretty neat.
BACON! We have missed you but thank you for being such a good friend and checking in on us. We are hopefully back again as often as we can. We have definitely missed our sweet pal.

Coco – tsk tsk – nibbling at the little piggies. I can’t say that I’ve NEVER done that… I have. Mom actually went around for a while with little carrots in her pockets so she could toss me one if I started. I outgrew that little phase. Cocco – humans are not for eating pal. Yep, Ody loved to perch on my shoulder when he was a kitten. Thankfully, now that he weighs about 15 pounds, he has outgrown that!

Snorts – that’s funny. Mouse Girl is a Maine Coon purr thing and she is upwards 15 pounds. You won’t see her up there on dad’s shoulders trying to be a pirate. Hemi on the other hand is as light as a feather compared to her…. or me. He’s always doing what we refer to as “Fear Factor” stunts. Poor thing – just doesn’t understand he’s a purr thing – snorts. That looks like fun but the cats here have never tried to be like a bird. They just like to watch them and wish they could get out to catch them. Don’t be surprised sweet Bacon if Hemi does learn to talk. Pooh our youngest cat talks to Mumsy and she says two words. 🙂 Hugs and snout kisses

Hemi is a very good parrot. The mouth is about as awful as the backside! I doubt Hemi will be talking though, so no worries just yet (as far as your poor backside being slapped!) 🙂
