Bacon and Eggs – Which Do You Prefer?

I know – that title probably threw you for a minute.  But knowing me, you *know* I can’t be that serious as to ‘real’ bacon on eggs, right?  Snorts.

I have my version of bacon and eggs.  I would like to know which one do you prefer.  Here are your two choices:

 

Choice 1 – Bacon and eggs cookies 🙂

These delicious morsels are sugar cookies with a white frosting to look like egg whites, yellow M&M for an egg yolk and two pretzels for bacon.  Yummy looking huh?

Choice 2 – Bacon and eggs ME

This is bacon in its rawest form – snort giggles – with eggs. I think I was around 6 weeks old here when mommy took this picture.  Never fear, those eggs didn’t get wasted after she took the picture.  She scrambled them up for me for dinner and they were delicious! 🙂

 

Bashful’s New Adventure

That little Bashful is up to his next adventure.  He is going on a trip!  He has been packing his little rocksuitcase all week getting ready and has been non-stop talking about going to meet some friends.

We can’t tell you where yet – that is a surprise.  But we can tell you that he won’t just be called the ‘rolling stone’ anymore.  He will now be called the ‘international rolling stone’.

He will be gone for two weeks.  Don’t worry, his host family is going to take plenty of pictures and post them on their blog.  We will be sure to repost here as well so no one misses Bashful’s adventure.  His flight is leaving Friday so everyone please keep him in your thoughts.  It will be his (1) first flight; (2) unchaperoned flight; and (3) first time away from home without us.  We know that he is going to have a blast of a good time and will come home with all kinds of memories.

You know you really do look cute though.  My human dresses me up.  I let her.  Do you know why?  Even though we may look extremely stupid, the humans enjoy it.  It brings a smile to my mom’s face every single time.  Knowing that, it’s worth it looking silly.  I say enjoy your human interaction and continue bringing a smile to their face my friend.  If that’s all it takes to make them happy, so be it. And the upside, they usually give us treats afterwards, right?  🙂

Hemi and Daddy Bonding – Snorts

To say that us animals control and walk all over the humans here at the Hotel Thompson is kind of an understatement.  Over the weekend, we all snuggled into the king size Select Comfort bed.  Hemi slept ‘with’ daddy.  Their setting is 100 – ha!  Me and mom kind of like it a little softer.  Our setting is a 50.  You gotta love the Select Comfort!  Mouse Girl she sleeps in her little princess bed on the floor.  She is such a girl!

Notice Hemi’s position on TOP of daddy.  This is how he beds down.  Personally I think Hemi believes that daddy is his mattress.  He sleeps like this all of the time.  He often will reach his paw out and touch daddy on the face.  Sometimes, he will drift over for some mommy loving but we all know that Hemi is daddy’s little boy just like I’m mommy’s boy.  Humans are not the only ones that pick favorites – us animals do as well.  But to us, it’s a little different.  We know who we can wrap around our hooves and paws – 🙂 Would we do that?

And you didn’t think that Hemi sleeps like this?  Just check out this bottom picture. The proof is in the picture.  He’s actually comfortable.  Touching dad’s face, his eyes closed and dreaming of chasing Journalist Rocky the Squirrel in the backyard.

But I have to ask you this – look at that paw?!  Do you understand what I mean now when I tell you it hurts when he slaps this little oinker on the fanny?  Snorts PLOL (Pig Laughing out Loud)!

Today, July 28, 2013 is National Parents Day.  Everyone has a parent – 🙂  Today is a special day to honor your mother and father – biological or adopted.  I know Bacon appreciates the time he spent with his biological mother and father.  If it wasn’t for them, he wouldn’t have the great parents he has today.  Bacon’s biological parents wished nothing but the best for him and I think he has it here at the Hotel Thompson with his human mom/dad.

All of us – Hemi, Mouse Girl, Bashful and even me the squirrel – are all very lucky to have mom/dad here at the Hotel Thompson.  There’s so much love!

Today, National Parents Day, brings the real meaning of Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.  Spend some time with your parents doing something fun and most important showing them how much they are loved and appreciated.

 

How Much Does Mommy Love Me?

Yep you guessed it. Mommy loves me so much that she bought this purse. She recently received it and has used it. She is now referred to as the “Pig Lady” – Snorts.

It is kind of cute and it does kind of resemble me in a way. It brings her happiness and I can overlook the stupidity creativity of the purse. The ears actually flap back and forth.

And you would never guess what she keeps in the zippered snout area. Go ahead, try. Waiting for you to guess. Speechless aren’t you. Okay I’ll tell you. She keeps ‘my’ business cards. The ones that show my blog address and my email address. Is it too much? Snorts

I think now she is on the hunt for the next great piggy purse. What do you think about this one? 🐷😄

 

Have a Great Weekend!

 The weekend is finally here – I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and thankfully it’s *not* a train!  Remember to roll in some mud, laugh and have a great time.  I think I might venture outside again…. maybe.  I don’t want to push it or anything – snorts.  I’m still a fragile little oinker.

This weekend is grocery store shopping weekend.  I’m hoping that mom finds me some new treats.  Other than that, I think the weekend has plenty of snuggle/loving time set for me.  Do you have any great plans?

We are working on a new gig for Bashful at the Hotel Thompson.  I think we are going to be in the final planning stages this weekend.  It should be a hoot and so much fun all around.  In fact, in some ways I’m a little green with envy.  I personally would like to do it but mom says no.  I’ll keep you posted on his big surprise coming up.

Piggy Therapy Is Over – Surprise!

It’s been a long battle with my piggy therapy. I’ve cried. I’ve shared my deepest feelings. I’ve laughed. But at last, my therapy is over. I’m not going to lie. It was hard – really HARD – coming to grips with my anti-nature status.

See, I’ve never really been ‘outside’. What you’ve never done, you are afraid of doing. I was a runt so my caretakers at that time took me inside of their home and bottle fed me. I stayed with them until the time my mommy adopted me at three weeks. And of course, I was too small to roam the great outdoors at that time – I weighed only ONE pound. Hard to believe huh?

So therapy involved baby steps. First going to the back door. I knew something was on the other side of the door – I could smell nature. Then, the door got opened and it was just me and nature with nothing in between. I could watch Journalist Rocky the Squirrel playing in the back yard with all of his family. I could see the rabbit family playing and eating. I could hear the birds singing their songs. This took several weeks to overcome knowing there was nothing between us but air.

Then, mommy persuaded me onto the deck – of course with food. Darn this belly!

Then, it was the final step into nature and the grass. So, I pigged up and took the step.

It wasn’t easy. The grass felt weird under my hooves. The smells of nature was overwhelming. The grass had just been cut and had a strong smell. But I continued to pig up and venture around the back yard of the Hotel Thompson. It really wasn’t that bad… but it wasn’t that great either. None of the stuff in the yard was familiar to this little oinker. My television, my air conditioner and my toddler bed were no where to be seen!

 

But I ventured on until it hit me. I *had* to go potty. I looked up at mom with this fear in my eyes. My tail was shaking. She knew what I needed to do. She told me to go ahead. What? Outside? Really? So I got in position – legs stretched out, tail straight up and whizzed… right there in the back yard for God and everyone to see. WOW – What a feeling of exhilaration. Mom praised me and laughed – I think I might have actually smiled back at her.

I admit it – it is really an experience outside. Do I want to do it again? Can’t really say right now. I’ve done it. I can now cross this off of my bucket list. I have stepped out and into nature.

Surprise – Don’t Miss Out!

I have a surprise for you tomorrow morning.

Nope – I’m not going to tell you what it is.  But, you shouldn’t miss out.  Tomorrow is Friday and Friday is full of piggy surprises.  If you miss out, you may hate yourself.  I’m just sayin’

So mark your calendars.  Set your alarm clocks.  Heck, you might not even want to go to bed.  It’s going to be good… real good.  Would I lie to you?  See you in the morning my friends!

 

Bashful Met a Friend

Give Bashful my pet rock an inch and he will take a mile!  He was talking non-stop last night – a million miles a minute.  I couldn’t get a word in edge wise.  I didn’t want to tell him to be quiet because it was hard enough for him to come out of his shell and start talking.  But once he did, WOW!  That little booger can talk!  About everything and anything.

I finally sent him outside to play with the other stones.  How many times have you sent your child outside to play to have them come back in with ‘friends’.  You know what I mean.  ‘Friends’ as in caterpillars, snakes, frogs, bugs, etc.

Bashful was no exception.  He came back in with his new friend – Caterpillar.  That rock has no fear!  I think he would talk a bear to sleep.  So meet Squiggles – Bashful’s new friend.  Cute, huh?
