Uh-Oh Time to Start Building the Ark

19 Jun

It’s time to start building the ark and gathering animals two by two.  It has totally been raining, thundering and lightening lately like you wouldn’t believe.  And, the bad thing – the roof at the Hotel Thompson has sprung a leak in the front room.

Daddy was sitting all innocently on the couch watching television when the sky opened up.  He felt a small drip and looked up to the ceiling.  Then it hit him right between the eyes.  A small innocent little drip.  That’s all it is right now… small.

Mom gathered up a bucket and stuck it underneath the wet spot.  There is now a colorful blue tarp on our roof preventing the damage even more.

I heard mom/dad talking about it and it doesn’t sound good.  With all of the storms lately, they are calling the adjustor to take a look.  I’m keeping my hooves crossed that the damage is minimal and easy to fix.

There’s been a lot of humans coming and going from the house today. Can you believe some of them even walked on the roof top like Santa? I was shocked too. I first thought it *was* Santa but daddy told me it was too soon. XOXO – Bacon

Thanks my friend. My room is fine – no damage at all 🙂 snorts. It’s mainly in the front room over daddy’s couch. Hopefully things will get fixed soon. XOXO – Bacon

I will cross my paws too – a roof damage is just annoying. (and this roof guys always want a gazillion of treats) But at least when we enter Noah’s ark I will get a girlfriend – ist means gathering the animals two by two, right? We have rain again too – and our roof is as old as the Sherwood Forest. My dad fixed the small holes with expanding foam ( mom had to shear him a dome, because this darned foam dropped on his head)

Expanding foam sounds awesome! It’s been raining like crazy here… almost *every* day at least once. It’s fine for me because I like the sound of it when I’m sleeping in my room. I don’t like it because mommy has to drive her small car to the worky place out in it. That kind of scares me.
Daddy just talked to another guy that was on the roof. Hopefully soon we shall know something… I hope.
Hey, if you get a girlfriend on the ark, that means I get one too, right? Things are looking good! XOXO – Bacon

Watch out for those men on the roof. Last year one of them fell through my den ceiling. He wasn’t hurt, but mommy said some words I’d never heard before and the den was a disaster. Hope there’s a silver lining to your gray clouds every, very soon!

OMP (oh my pig!). That would have been awful. I’m going to keep my hooves crossed that it doesn’t happen here at the Hotel Thompson. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for the heads up. XOXO – Bacon

Poor Dad. I hope it isn’t too expensive to repair. I live in a converted miners cottage built in 1902 which has a spiral metal staircase to my bedroom and wool room. I just (yesterday) had the tiny balcony which was leaking all repaired and made nice. It is a good feeling once it is sound and without leaks. If you visited you would be safe because I had it lined with lattice trellis to prevent critter hazards. 🙂

Wow your place sounds fantastic! Ours is a ranch style house. Hopefully, it won’t be too bad. The one roofer today didn’t think so but he won’t know much until the adjuster comes out. Mommy is just ready for all of this to be over with. She doesn’t do too well with house stress. I can’t much blame her 🙂 XOXO – Bacon
