Squirrels, Rabbits and Bigfoot – OH MY!

08 May

At the Hotel Thompson, we have a lot of woods in the back yard. It’s a good thing for privacy. There’s also a small creek that runs behind the property line. That’s a bad thing for the long slithery things that come out of it wanting to venture into our back yard – shivers. But, there’s other animal life back there. I’ve seen it all from my window in my bedroom.

There’s squirrels that hang out playing tree games jumping around and secretly taking our pictures for their photo albums. Sometimes they come up on the deck asking to borrow a cup of nuts. Personally, I think that Journalist Rocky the Squirrel sends over his family to sponge off of mom and dad. I’m just sayin’ – snort.

There’s also a family of rabbits that play in the woods and come into the back yard. They are fast. Last year, they were all babies and this year they have now grown up into beautiful adults.

Mom throws out bread and seed for them to eat. And, they love the clover in the back yard. There’s lots of that for their little buffet meals.

And let’s talk about frogs. Oh thud – the frogs are so loud at night! You can hear them from the creek croaking at night. It kind of calms you down a bit and it’s memorizing.

Other times you just want to hang out the back door and yell, “I’m fixing frog legs tonight, any takers?” Just piggy joking. We wouldn’t do that – PLOL (Pig Laughing out Loud).

And then, the other night we saw something that was unique and interesting. Mom, the ever ready camera gal, took a picture. Of course it came out blurry. I mean, come on it wouldn’t be a sighting if it wasn’t blurry, right – snort? There it was walking slowly through the back yard. It looked directly at her. I was in my room watching and it scared me so bad. What was it you ask. Are you ready for this? It’s unbelievable!

PIGGY DOWN! I was in shock. It had all of the signs of the legendary Bigfoot. Camera picture blurry, tall, hairy – it was BIGFOOT.

Then, I took another look. It had a slight resemblance to someone that I recognized. Shucks, all that fuss – my bad. It was just my dad walking through the back yard. Darn it – I was that close to being famous. Oh well, close though. I’ll keep looking. 🙂

I have read all about your American Bigfoot. Wow that picture looked a lot like pictures people who have claimed to see him look like. A big LOL who it turned out to be. We have Bunyips and Yowies here. I haven’t seen one but I know someone who knows someone who saw one. 🙂

So cool! Mom is interested in all kinds of things and this happens to be one of them. We watch this series on television called “Finding Bigfoot”. It’s kind of neat. They went to Australia once and looked for the Yowie. I loved that show! It would be fascinating to see one in person, don’t you think? Of course, I would probably tinkle all over myself but afterwards what a story it would be! PLOL – XOXO – Bacon

I went on a trip once with my Father to Gympie and we went along the Newell Highway. As we went through the Pilliga Scrub he told me numerous truck drivers have reported yowie sightings here and none would stop to rest here for any reason. I said “do you believe there are yowies out there?” he said “nar” I said “would you stop and rest here”? he replied “nar!” LOL. google this place. It is a bit creepy and unwelcoming or perhaps it is just because of the stories. 🙂

You have super neighbours Bacon though I’d be careful of that paparazzi squirel – careful where you get up to high jinks or your pics will be on the front pages 😀

I still say that Journalist Rocky the Squirrel is trying to set me up with those paparazzi squirrels. They’re trying to get some incriminating pictures of me so he can take over my blog. I just know it! PLOL – XOXO – Bacon

Snort – yeah my dad is quite the hairy kind of guy. He’s a good human at heart. The frogs well – those things can be so loud at night! With them singing and Bashful snoring, sometimes this little piggy can’t sleep. I have to turn on white noise on my stereo to drown out all of their noises. XOXO – Bacon

Sounds like a wonderful place to love sweetie. Are you sure you don’t want to go outside? All the smells and sounds might overwhelm you but it might calm the deviled ham within.

That is true. Most people know about Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. I bet they didn’t know about Sweet Bacon and Deviled Ham – snort. Deviled Ham is calming down a bit but comes out a little here/there. Outside is the next adventure for me. Ppsstt – I’ve been looking out the back door. I haven’t set a hoove out the door yet but looking. It’s so vast out there, so green, so many trees and nature is everywhere! It’s a work in progress. We’ll see and I’ll be sure to keep you posted my friend! XOXO – Bacon

They are pretty loud at times. Mom says they relax her at night – kind of like the crickets when they chirp. You want me to box some up and send them your way? I will – I can try to go out into nature and gather some up for you – snort chuckles.
I know the look on your face is probably priceless on that. I was pulling your leg – snort snort oink oink. XOXO – Bacon

We have crickets here to feed our Leopard Gecko.. but we had to have silent ones cos they kept escaping and keeping us awake at night!
Gad Bacon I thought you were actually gonna send me some loud frogs haha 🙂 xx

snort chuckles. Sometimes at night when mom/dad come home from dinner, they find frogs hanging on to the glass front door. They always scare mommy. Snort snicker. XOXO – Bacon
