Greetings from Princess Mouse Girl

20130322-091834.jpgHi everyone. My name is Princess Mouse Girl. I am one of the purr things here at the Hotel Thompson. Bacon has his hands full right now with Bashful and asked me to step in today. That took a lot for that little pig to ask for help. I’m honored. And trust me, I won’t let him forget that he had to ask *me* for help – purr wink.

Mom took this picture of me not too long ago. I know you want to rub my furry belly, don’t you? Dad says it looks like I have go-go boots on my bottom feet. I am 20 pounds of cuteness all rolled up in furry heaven.

I thought I would take this opportunity to tell you something about myself. I’m the only girl at the hotel besides mom. Yes, with all of these boys it does make it hard on me sometimes. They like to be rough and run. I’m strictly a girly cat. I like my spa time – I like to get pampered, carried, held and brushed.

I am what they refer to as a Maine Coon cat. Maine Coons run a little bit bigger in size and are known for our bushy tails – you can almost see mine at the bottom of the picture.

Mom and dad adopted me from the shelter on December 19, 2010. Hemi had just lost his brother that summer and was taking it really hard. Mom and dad was trying everything to get him to cheer back up and it wasn’t working. They spoke to Hemi’s catatrician and she suggested getting him a new friend.

Mom looked everywhere and found a shelter that was going to be in our area over that weekend. Mom even found a kitty she wanted to look at when they went and completed all of the adoption paperwork before hand. When they went to the shelter, the kitty they wanted to see didn’t want anything to do with mom. Weird huh? And mom’s a loveable kind of gal. But that’s okay – I saw the opportunity and seized it!

I was in a corner cage minding my business when I saw mom and dad walk into the shelter. While mom went to look at the other kitty, dad was just standing beside my cage. I did what any kitty has to do to get noticed. I reached through the bars and touched daddy’s arm. It scared him at first but it did the trick. He noticed and petted me a little through the bars. He started to walk away and I wasn’t going to have that! I started meowing and purring like there was no tomorrow. That got his attention again and he came back to me. Everytime he left my play pen area, I would make noise to get him back.

I got so loud at times, other people started noticing. I mean think about it, I was going home that day. I had picked out my humans and it was the matter of getting them to accept me now. Finally mom came over. I think I had her at meow. They decided then and there that I was the one. Mom went to do the paperwork and that’s when she found out my name, Mouse Girl. Since mom likes that little mouse that wears the white gloves so much, she thought it was meant to be with Mouse being in my name.

I went home that day to the Hotel Thompson and I’ve never looked back. As soon as Hemi saw me, we started playing together. He chirped up and mom and dad had their old Hemi back. We’ve been family every since.

So, there you go. Everything you wanted to know about the wonderful Princess Mouse Girl. Hope you have a puurrrfectly wonderful weekend everyone – Kisses – Mouse
